I grew up in a little town of 1,200 on northern Minnesota’s Iron Range where people worked hard, played hard and new everyone else's story. Upon graduating from high school, I backpacked across Europe for three months to "see how another part of the world lived" before returning to attend Marquette University. Armed with a journalism degree, I wanted a Pulitzer for a long time. Some say I have the acidic style of Spencer Tracy where he plays a reporter amidst a buzzing newsroom (one of my most prized possessions is an old, black Underwood manual typewriter my wife gave me for our first anniversary). My 19 years in journalism culminated with me being the Chicago Bureau Chief for a national news service. It was a natural transition into public relations, and I jumped quickly into the fire with Fortune 100 company Motorola. I quickly came up to speed on international PR and decided it was time to help other companies launch their innovations internationally. I could spend several hours telling stories of my experiences and life's lessons, but my real passion is to tell your stories. | ||
