Ulwazi Project

While working with Motorola, we learned about the Ulwazi Project -- an E-learning pilot program in the Tshwane metropolitan area of South Africa. Because of a severe shortage of science teachers in South Africa, students often went without learning this valuable subject. Motorola’s Canopy® wireless broadband technology has made it possible for a single science educator to remotely and interactively teach students in five schools. Besides making a financial donation to the Ulwazi Project, Kelly+LoDestro actively publicized the Project, which has been featured in many publications around the world as well as on CNN. The Ulwazi Project has been imitated in other countries, including Indonesia and Macedonia.
